Counseling and Educational Support for children, teens, young adults and parents
What We Do
Clifton Psychological Services, Inc. provides an individualized approach as it relates to education and/or work-related difficulties. These could include aspects of the learning process, accommodations, teacher communication, bullying, or psychoeducation. While the length of services varies upon the person, we typically aim to provide targeted interventions and supports in a relatively shorter time frame (typically 8 – 10 weeks).
If more in-depth concerns or services are warranted, we work to provide referrals to the appropriate clinician with the family. This allows us to support families by functioning as an effective treatment option and ‘demystifying’ any concerns or previous experiences that may stand in the way of further services. It also supports other clinicians by offering interim care options when necessary. The end result tends to be an informed family, effective services, and increased follow-through all around.
Overview of Services We Offer
We prioritize our clients and their long-term goals.
We understand that each individual brings something unique, and not every strategy or approach is right for everyone.
That is why we partner with you—as opposed to being “the answer.”
Our goal is to help YOU discover the answers that you have always known to be true.
Meet Jarrett Clifton, EdS, LEP
I believe that we all have the right to choose our path for personal growth and success. My role is not to do the work for you, but to be there along the way as you discover your own capabilities.
I have experience working with children, teens and young adults, and parents helping them navigate school life, social dynamics, and complicated families.
In my work with you, I utilize trauma-informed practices, resilience, and an equity lens—while having fun along the way.
Our personalized approach is…
Collaborative
We may be able to provide some frameworks to working through your challenges, but ultimately your voice matters to us. We can give an expert perspective on things like learning strengths, mental health topics, parenting, etc. but this perspective requires flexibility when it comes to what it looks like in your life.
Solution-oriented
All services provided by us will have a specific goal linked to the support. Ideally, these would be 1, 3, and 6-month goals to provide enough time for meaningful progress, with benchmarks along the way to measure success. The priority is not to obsess over the problem, diagnosis, or what others do, but to move forward and reach your goals effectively and efficiently.
Individualized
We want things to work for YOU. Not only for you as a person, but also within your ecosystem of support (e.g., family, community, professional setting). We see each person as part of a broader network – and when you feel successful, others notice, which further encourages you to continue down the right path.
